Exact same thing happens to me..When im with a group of people, especially in the car as ive noticed, it feels like i don't have the right to speak up when I want to. Even though they ask "why are you so quiet?" That just makes me feel even worse, but at least I know they want me to talk to some degree. Social situations can start off alright, but after a while the awkward silences and moments build up and I go back in my head, makes it hard to get a word out and respond. It cripples you..

I don't respond the way I want to since the anxiety makes you second guess yourself and locks you up inside. People are prevented from seeing our true selves. The hardest thing is seeing your old friendships slip away because of this. These irrational thoughts can only hold us back if we believe them. We have to prevent ourselves from getting lost in this noise.

the cycle is, having social anxiety makes others around you feel uncomfortable which you pick up on, which make you EVEN more anxious. Negative thoughts mean a negative reality. Positive thoughts mean a positive reality.
